As we start this year, let us not forget that You neither slumber nor sleep, are neither late nor too soon to act, are never lacking, and are always perfectly wise and capable in all Your dispensations — especially in the demonstration of Your great love for Your people and plan of redemption. Show us more of Yourself this year. Let us grow mature in faith in new measure and witness. Make us willing where we have been obstinate, humble where we have been proud, hopeful where we have doubted, victorious where we have failed. May Your word penetrate and reform our hearts afresh this year. Grant us the mind of Christ in all things. Renew us after the image of Your son Jesus, and fill us, Holy Spirit, with fresh love for the Lord and His ways. We need You lest we perish. Your will be done.
